Rings Around the Sun

I thought I would share this photo with you. I'm not sure how often it is seen and how many have seen it but it was something we witnessed around lunch time on Thursday here in our part of South Africa. We took the photo through the lens of a pair of sunglasses as we wern't sure how the photo would take directly into the sun as it is summer here and the sun is very bright. According to a climatologist the halo that is around the sun is caused by a specific type of ice crystals that are actually falling, which is why we can see the colours within the halo, otherwise it would just be white.
